FRIDAY
TAME
201 Quito - Lago Agrio by plane (depart
10:30 a.m. the same day) or public bus (must leave
one day before). We'll travel by bus to the Cuyabeno
River (3 hrs). Then we'll travel via motor canoe;
the navigation could be approximately for 2 and
a half-hours. From the canoe, you'll be able to
take pictures and see the wide variety of flora
and fauna. Arrival at the camping place. In the
afternoon there is time to relax, swim or take
a brief excursion into the surround area. Dinner
and lodging in tents. |

SATURDAY After breakfast we
will take a long walk in the primary forest, where the
guide will give you an explanation about medicinal plants
and survival in the jungle (2-3 hrs). Lunch. In the
afternoon we will make an excursion in rowing canoes
through small channels and branches of the Cuyabeno
River, where you can admire the flooded forest IGAPO.
With any luck, you will be able to see fresh water dolphins
and birds such as parrots, toucans, kingfishers, and
ara macaws. We will also fish for piranhas. Return to
the campsite to have diner. Lodging.
SUNDAY At six o’clock
bird watching (1hr optional). Breakfast. Canoe down
the Cuyabeno River, short walk to Puerto Bolívar
or Tarapuy, which are small villages of the indigenous
SIONAS-SECOYAS. The guide will give us an explanation
about their life. Lunch. In the afternoon we will arrive
at the next camping place. Time to relax. Diner and
lodging in tents. Night excursion
(Opcion 1 hour).
MONDAY Breakfast. Long walk
in the jungle (3-4 hrs). Lunch. In the afternoon we
will take a Tour and fish for piranhas in the Aguas
Negras River tributary of the Cuyabeno River, including
piranha fishing. Night trip by canoes in search of caimans.
Diner and lodging in tents.
TUESDAY Breakfast. Navigation by canoe up to
the bridge where we will take the bus back to Lago Agrio
(TAME 202 Lago Agrio – Quito 11h30)
