GTM 1 SAQUISILI (Thursdays)
PUJILI (Sunday & Wednesday)
One and half-hours south of Quito in to the town
of Saquisilí or Pujilí, with one
of the most color and complete Indian markets
in Ecuador. The whole town is a market on these
days and one can walk around, shopping for handicrafts
of all kinds. Back to Quito.
GTM 2 OTAVALO
(Saturday principal day) (Tuesday,
Friday, Sunday also)
We travel north Quito to visit Otavalo, place
well know for their weavers and for the best handicraft
found outside Quito. We continue to Cotacachi
known for its work leather genuine and to San
Antonio de Ibarra for it’s excellent carving
wood works. Along the way we see the fascinating
mosaic of rural Ecuador. |

GTM 3 OTAVALO 2 DAYS
DAY 01- We travel north Quito
to visit Calderón, famous with their bread figures,
continue to Cayambe and San Pablo Lake. On the afternoon
we will visit San Antonio de Ibarra for its excellent
carving wood works . Lodging in Otavalo.
DAY 02- Leave to the Indian
Market to Otavalo place well know for their weavers
and for the best handicraft found outside Quito and
Cotacachi.
GTM. 4 ZUMBAHUA - QUILOTOA (Saturday)
We start very early in the morning going through the
Avenue of the Volcanoes. After we reach the city of
Latacunga we turn towards Pujili and then up the old
road toward the coast. In this area we see a really
desolated Andean terrain with an occasional shaped in
the distance. Zumbahua is a typical mountain market
where the llamas and riding horses are traded. The land
origin of primitive at Tigua. A visit to the Crater
Lake Quilotoa is included. Then we return to Quito.
