With this trek, you can back to the past, in this time
the Inca’s Imperial that extend to Ecuador to
leave the principal vestige, the Archeological Ruins
of Ingapirca.
DAY
01. Departure from Quito to the south,
through the Avenue of the Volcanoes, with good
weather conditions we can get a glimpse of Cotopaxi,
Ilinisas. Arrive to Achupallas town 17h00, campsite.
DAY 02. Early
morning trek to Gringo Sayana (traveler relief),
campsite. We can see the active volcano Sangay.

DAY 03. Trek to Paredones;
Inca’s military base, in the way we will visit
some lagoons, such as: Culebrillas lake, Las Tres Cruces
(The three crosses), campsite.
DAY 04. After breakfast walk
to Ingapirca, with this trek you can see the traditional
farming of the Ecuadorian Highland. The transportation
waiting for us in Ingapirca. Back to Cuenca.
GTT.02 COTOPAXI
DAY 01- Departure from Quito
to the Volcanoes avenue; inside to the National Park
Cotopaxi – Tambopaxi. We start to walk with lamas
to the Salitre inca´s ruins, to Santo Domingo
fountain with native guide. Box lunch. Dinner and lodging
in Tambopaxi.º
DAY 02- Breakfast. We will
walk to the Limpiopungo Lake, back to the skirt of Rumiñahui
and farewell lunch. Transfer to Quito or Latacunga city.
GTT.03 TREKKING SANGAYDAY 01-

Departure
Quito to the south, through Latacunga and Ambato;
with good weather conditions we can get a glimpse
of Chimborazo and Altar. From Riobamba we take
the road toward the small town of Alao (3.400
Mt.). Dinner and campsite.
DAY 02- Early morning
trek and climb to an altitude of 3.950 Mt. Descend
to the Vaquería de Culebrillas. This is
a small-uninhabited thatched hut, which is used
by the indigenous as refugee. Long day walk, (but
it is well worth seen the impressive and rugged
countryside). At night, we can see the fireworks
of Sangay. Campite near stream.

DAY 03- Leave Culebrillas
Valley and head east, passing cloud forest, fording
the Yanayacu River several times. Today our indigenous
guides will clear the path through the thick underbrush
with the help of machetes.
DAY 04- Hike toward Sangay´s
base camp. Trail through several ridges and ford a river,
where drastic changes in vegetation, ranging, from paramo
grasslands to Andean forests. This area is of wild deer´s,
spectacle bears and tapirs home. If we can not see them
at least we can observe their prints and droppings.
The spectacular activity of the volvano a bit and admire
the odd, desolate, 0moonlike landscape.
DAY 05- We walk for see animals
and rocks, up to the top of Sangay Volcano. Lodging
DAY 06- Return by the same
route La Playa – Culebrillas (6 hours), lodging.
DAY 07- Return by the same
route to Alao. Back to Quito.
GTT.04 GUAGUA PICHINCHA
| Early
morning, toward the crater of the volcano. Where
vegetation and the typical moor land flowers will
change. Our jeep drives us near the crater rim.
Descending into the huge crater. After a couple
of hours we discover an awe-inspiring, bizarre world.
Steaming fumarols and thermal springs can be seen
all around. Rest and return to our vehicle following
the same path. |

GTT.05 TREKKING LAGUNA DEL QUILOTOA

DAY
01. We start very early in the morning,
going through the Avenue of the Volcanoes. After
we reach the city of Latacunga, we turn towards
Pujilí and then up the old road towards
the coast Zumbahua is a typical mountain market
where llamas and riffing horses are traded, campsite. |
DAY 02. Early morning, trek
and climb to Quilotoa volcano and then descend to the
lake in the crater, lunch. Return by the same route
to Quito.
THE PROGRAM CAN DO IN ONE DAY, START FROM QUITO 04H00
AND BACK 21H00. IF DO YOU WANT TO VISIT THE INDIAN MARKET,
LEAVE A SATURDAY.
ALL TREKKING AND CLIMBING PROGRAMS ARE FLEXIBLE AND
SOME CHANGES MAY HAPPEN, DEPENDING TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.
