Some 25 Kilometers south of Quito is one of the most fantastic protected forest areas. This region in very similar to the Cloud Forest but not quite the same; it has some 30 species of trees and numerous epiphytes including some orchids. Over 70 species of birds are recorded 12 hummingbirds. Here are easy walking trails for visitors.

GTS.02 COTOPAXI – BAÑOS

DAY 01- Depart south from Quito via the Avenue of the Volcanoes. The first visit into the National Park Cotopaxi , the park some 320.000 hectares loaded with Andean wildlife. Breeding program for llamas is run by Park Administration. Plants and birds are real highlights. Before arriving to Baños we pass over the Pastaza canyon having a wonderful scenery. Lodging

DAY 02-
We will visit Baños surroundings and a beautiful cascade “El Pailón del Diablo” where we can have a chance to walk through the Cloud Forest. We return to Quito, travelling through the Patate valley, one of the prettiest warm valleys of this region, we join the Pan-American way around Ambato.

DAY 03- We’ll continue to Cuenca, in the way we will visit the Archeological Ruins of Ingapirca. If work the train it possible to take from Alausi to Huigra. Lodging.

DAY 04- Visit a city of Cuenca, their churches and monasteries, we continue to visit the hut straw factory, the Santos ruins and the Turi view point. Lodging.

DAY 05- Depart in the morning we start to the Cajas lakes, we will trek in this place. On the afternoon we come back to Quito.
