| Drive
through northern residential section; start from
the Francisco de Orellana monument (Guápulo
view point). Then on the colonial part of the city
visit the San Agustin Monastery one of the Quito´s
most beautiful religious buildings. Walk to the
Independence Plaza, then to La Compañía
Church with its famed goldleaf altars. Continue
to San Francisco Church, first great colonial building,
housing painting of the famous colonial artist Caspicara.
Drive to El Panecillo Hill for a panoramic view
of the city and its surroundings. |
